Registration Period: March 1 through February 28 (29 in leap years) of the following year.
"Motorcycle" means every motor vehicle having a seat or saddle for the use of the rider and designed to travel on not more than three wheels in contact with the ground, including motor scooters and bicycles with motor attached, OTHER THAN those vehicles defined as motorized bicycle and excluding a tractor.
Note: A motorcycle also includes electric motorcycles that meet the definition of a motorcycle and have no engine number. The MCO must have Federal Safety Standard language and the VIN must be 17 digits.
Determine registration tax, which is found in the front section of the Tax Manual[GA1] .
Issue motorcycle plates and appropriate year validation stickers.
Provide customer with the validated owner's copy of the PS2000.
Renewal notices are mailed to the owner of record in late December.
Registration may be renewed when deputies have the proper year validation stickers in stock.
Issue appropriate year validation sticker.
Validate the top portion of the renewal notice. This is the customer's proof of registration.
